summer food program

June 10 - August 16

We know that when kids and teens have consistent access to healthy food, they have the fuel they need to grow and thrive.  That is why we are excited to announce that free and healthy summer meals are available to kids and teens across our community this year - all summer long!  Please spread the word that picking up summer meals can save families time and money and help our school community get back on its feet.

There are two options with the program.  You have sites that are eat-in and then sites that are pick-up only.  

Our local eat in places are:

• Brinson Memorial Elementary

• ​Trent Park Elementary

• West Craven high school

The pick-up option includes one breakfast and one lunch per day.  Our local pick-up locations are:

• West Craven High School- (Thursdays)

• Dover Town Park- (Thursdays)

• Cove City Library- (Thursdays)

• Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary- (Fridays)

• Oak Ridge Mobile Homes- (Fridays) 

Children can only participate in one option or the other (eat -it or pick-up meal kits).  To find a meal site closest to you: text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304 OR go to SummerMeals4NCKids.org.
